The Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan
In addition to bodily life, God has also given us spiritual and supernatural life through the sacrament of baptism, because He brought us into the great family of Mother Church. What a beautiful gift baptism is, through which we have become children of God, members of His Mystical Body, the Church, heirs of eternity.
The Wedding at Cana
Mary in Cana of Galilee said to Jesus: They have no wine (Jn 2:3). Let us also, like Her, be aware of the needs of the poor, whether they are spiritual or material needs, and like Her, let us generously share with others the love and grace with which we ourselves have been blessed. Concern for others is the beginning of holiness. If you learn the art of thinking of your neighbors, you will become more and more like Christ; for His heart was good and gentle, He was always thinking of the needs of others. Our vocation, if it is to be beautiful, must be filled with concern for our neighbors.
The Proclamation of the Kingdom of God
Let us proclaim the peace of Christ as He proclaimed it. Jesus went through life doing good. He did not cease to fulfill His mission of mercy when the Pharisees and His other opponents showed Him hatred, when they tried to destroy the work of His Father. What is essential in our life is not what we say, but how we believe, how we live, how we love and bear witness to Jesus Christ, our Savior. The most effective means of preaching Christianity to the pagans is our joy, the conviction of our own happiness. It is a very difficult thing, sometimes outright impossible, to proclaim Jesus to other people if we do not possess Him in our heart. ”To convert” means to lead to God. ”To sanctify” means to fill with God…
The Transfiguration
Christians should be a light to others. If you learn the art of thoughtfulness, you will become more and more like Christ, for He was humble of heart and always thought of others. Pass on Jesus not with words, but by your example, by loving Him, shining with His holiness, and spreading love wherever you find yourself. Let the joy of Jesus be your strength. Let His light always burn in your heart – for He alone is the Way to walk. He is the Life to live. He is the Love to love.
The Institution of the Eucharist
The Eucharist means love that understands. Christ understood our terrible hunger for God. He understood that we were created to be loved – that is why He made Himself the Bread of Life. To share with Jesus the love that understands, you must consume this Bread. The Holy Mass is our prayer of the day – we offer ourselves in sacrifice together with Christ, to be broken with Him and given to the poorest of the poor. The Eucharist is our glory and joy, it is the mystery of our union with Christ. The Holy Mass is the spiritual food that sustains me, without which I could not survive even a single day or hour. Our participation in the Eucharist is incomplete if it does not lead to service and love for the poor.
