The Annunciation
It all came from the outside and was a gift from God. It was a great initiative of love on the part of the Lord God. Mary's openness and her availability ensured that God's gift was not wasted. Mary accepted this gift and shares it with us today. Everyone has their own annunciation, and the Lord God sends an angel to everyone with the good news of salvation. One must recognize the moment of annunciation and accept the divine message addressed solely to me.
Let us pray for openness and readiness to receive God's gifts in our lives. For availability to God's call.
The Visitation
Everything that is life is born in an encounter. Spiritual life even more so than physical life. The visitation of Elizabeth by Mary is at the same time the visitation of John the Baptist by Jesus. This great encounter will bear fruit in the revelation of Love. From the intimacy of these two women, a great love will be born.
Let us pray for the purity and beauty of all our encounters and interactions. So that goodness, which conquers evil, may be born of them.
The Nativity of Jesus
It is a great risk of love. He went out to meet man as a little child. He went far, as if too far, not fearing that man might not understand or comprehend this. He told us a lot about Himself, as if too much, and to this day man does not know what to do with this truth. He revealed to us His intimacy, the inner life of the Trinity, which is Love, and showed us the Father and the Holy Spirit. We stand helpless before the Mystery that transcends and terrifies us, and yet simultaneously attracts and fascinates us.
Let us pray for sensitivity to the coming God. He will come in the guise of the four poor of the Gospel: a child, an elderly person, a sick person, and a stranger. Let us not reject them.
The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple
Everything, whatever we have and have possessed, we have from Him. How pathetic are the attempts to keep anything for ourselves. We give Him everything that is ours, and above all ourselves, so that we may no longer live only for ourselves, but for Him who died and rose again for us. To live only for oneself is death; to live for Him is to truly live.
Let us pray for freedom from ourselves, for our availability to God's calls, so that our lives may have a meaning greater than we ourselves are able to give them.
The Finding of Jesus in the Temple
All our lives we search for Jesus, we search for Him even without knowing it. We search for Him because we search for that Great Love, the hunger and need for which are written into our hearts. Our heart is restless unless it experiences Love. It is the food and breath of the human heart. God is love. We must seek Him and find Him.
Let us pray that through wisdom and simplicity of heart, every person may find love in their life and encounter Jesus.
