The Annunciation

God is humble. He entrusted the entire mystery of the Incarnation and Redemption to the decision of a woman. He made Himself dependent on Mary's ”Yes.” Humanity was given the freedom to respond to God... For He is not a God of pride, but of humility.

The Visitation

God is humble. He revealed Himself to Saint John the Baptist and Saint Elizabeth as an unborn Child, still hidden in Mary's womb. Not as a conqueror or a mighty king, but as a humble Child, concealed within His Mother.

The Nativity of Jesus

God is humble. He chose to be born in a stable, lying on straw among animals. He deserved the finest surroundings, yet He embraced poverty and humiliation. Today, a stable; soon, the even greater humiliation of the Cross.

The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple

God is humble. When the King of all creation came to the Temple in Jerusalem, He deserved to be welcomed by all the priests with the greatest honor. Instead, only two elderly people-Simeon and Anna-recognized and welcomed Him.

The Finding of Jesus in the Temple

God is humble. He reveals Himself to us as a Boy who could be lost by His parents. He is the Son who is perfectly obedient-not only to His Heavenly Father, but also to His earthly parents. What an astonishing mystery of God's humility: God, obedient to man!
